Meet Me Monday ~ Jody

This week, I have the fabulous Jody from A Spoonful of Happy Endings blog. Let's get started!

~ Meet Jody ~

1.) Let's start off this week's Meet Me Monday questions with a little sauciness! When it comes to men, which eye colour do you think is most sexy?

Ah, nothing like a bit of sauciness to start the week! I have to admit there isn't really one specific eye colour I think is most sexy; I'm not really an eyes kind of girl, I guess!

2.) Meeting fellow book lovers is always fun! How do you know, when speaking to a person for the first time, if you're going to get along with them or not?

First impressions definitely matter and to me personally it's really important that a person is friendly, polite, and interested in what others have to say. If someone has some of the same interests as me that's definitely a good thing, so I also know we won't have any trouble keeping the conversation going!

3.) You've just arrived at a theme park and it has been split into four sections ~ Thrill seekers, spooky, gentle and breezy, or high in the sky! Which section are you heading to?

It probably depends on my mood, but I think I'd most likely go for gentle and breezy. It immediately makes me think of a beautiful part of the theme park with lots of pretty scenery, perhaps a bit of music, and fun rides like a merry-go-round or crazy golf... Yes, I'd definitely go there!

4.) Whereabouts are you from, Jody? Could you describe your home/street/country to us?

I'm from the Netherlands. I was born and raised in quite a big city in the south of the country and I've always stayed in the same area. Even when I went to university in another city, I stayed at home with my family and traveled back and forth every single day. For the past couple of years I've been living together with my boyfriend in a slightly smaller city than where I was born; we just bought a house together last year and it's in a great neighborhood; I love it there!

5.) What would you say your strongest sense is? Which one would you give up if you had to choose one?

Oh, this is a difficult question! I think my strongest sense is probably my nose; I always smell lots of things others don't smell, and it can really influence my mood or behavior. If I had to give up a sense, I think I'd have to go for that one as well though. I couldn't imagine living without any of the other sense!

6.) Night at a bar, woohoo! What's your poison?

Something fruity, preferably flavours like cherry or strawberry & lime.

7.) Tell me three books that are currently on your to-read list.

Giovanna Fletcher - 'You're The One That I Want', Paige Toon - 'Thirteen Weddings', and Lisa Dickenson - 'You Had Me At Merlot'.

8.) In terms of fictional hotties: dark, shy and brooding or life of the party, happy-go-lucky and chatty?

I definitely have a weakness for the Mr. Darcy type, so I'd have to go for dark, shy and brooding!

9.) If you could work anywhere, doing anything, what would you choose to do?

I'd be a researcher and teacher at a university (preferably a pretty and old one with an amazing library), specialised in Jane Austen. Or I'd have my own successful and lovely book shop!

10.) Does the cover of a book help you decide whether you're going to read it or not?

Yes, definitely. I know people say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but I simply can't help myself most of the time. If a book has a pretty cover, I'll be more excited about picking it up and reading it than if I don't like the cover at all.

11.) As a book blogger, how do you tend to manage your blog? Are you constantly scheduling posts and keeping on top of things? Or do you sometimes lack in the organisational department?

I have a fulltime job, so if I don't schedule posts and keep on top of things, there probably wouldn't be much of a blog! I usually use my weekends and evenings to write reviews and stay in touch with people, because I don't have the time during the day. It took me a bit of time, but I've now found a way of working that really works for me and my blog!

12.) If you could return to being a child, what would you do?

I'd immediately dress up like a princess, beg my parents to take me to Disneyland, and try to enjoy the fact that I don't have to worry about everything yet.

13.) Do you have a large family or quite a small one? Do you all get along with each other?

I've got quite a small family. I'm really close to my parents and brother and sister; I see them almost every week and we have the best times together. I also used to be really close to my grandmother, but she passed away last year and I still miss her terribly.

14.) Describe to me your dream holiday, in detail.

Oh wow, I love this! Okay, I'd definitely make it a really long holiday, so I could visit lots of places. I'd start by going to Paris for a day and visiting Disneyland. Then I'd take the Eurostar to London, spend a couple of days there, and then travel around the UK visiting amazing country houses, doing a Jane Austen tour around the country, doing a bit of shopping, and spending some days near the beach in Wales. Oh, and I'd also add in a few days on the Isle of Wight; I love it there. Then I'd take a plane and fly to the USA, where I'd definitely explore New York for a couple of days, and then do a road trip of to some of the states I'd like to see... I love this and could go on for hours, haha, but this would definitely be part of my dream holiday!

15.) Lastly, what is it that you love so much about reading?

I just love opening a book and stepping into another world, being able to leave your own life and all your troubles behind and join someone else on their adventures. It's one of the best things in the world.

Thanks so much for having me, Becca, this has been a lot of fun!
